I am thrilled to offer this unique weekend workshop where I will help you engage in the process of painting and opening up to your inner creator.
I hear so many people talk about how they really want to be creative and paint, but they don’t know where to start, or they doubt themselves. I hear others say that they don’t have time to paint. During this weekend, I will help you find and connect to your inner artist, and by the end, you will see that you are creative; you will see that you are an artist.
I will guide you in this exploration by first setting up a sacred space. In that sacred space we will do some very short writing activities to help unpack any resistance you might be having. My husband Aaron Drake, who is an energy healer and meditation expert, will also lead you on some short, guided meditations to help you relax and open up more to your creative force. During the meditations, you will also be guided to view an image to paint.
Of course, we will paint, paint, and paint some more. We might even dance!
This class, however, is about more than just painting an image. It’s about playing and exploring the medium and in so doing, exploring your soul. What comes up is different for each person, but you will have the time and the space to play, and paint, and create, and most of all have fun.
This is a chance to let go of all barriers and to indulge your inner creator who wants to come out and express itself. This weekend is a gift to your soul.
All experience levels are welcome. All you need to do is to show up and the magic will begin.
Below are some frequently asked questions.
WILL I LEARN ANY PAINTING TECHNIQUES?
Yes, I will be sharing some of the techniques that I use when I paint. For instance, people often want to know how I get the depth in my paintings and certain other effects, and I will show you that. But, this class is really about opening up to your inner creator. You will not be copying a painting. You will create your own images to paint. I know this can be scary, but everyone can do it, and I will help you through it.

HERE'S WHAT PEOPLE HAVE SAID ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP:
Thank you for the class. I loved you. The class was so wonderful and had a relaxed atmosphere. You are a great presenter—very open and accepting, very engaging and supportive. Thank you for all of the guidance and the different techniques you gave us. You gave us permission to paint and explore, and you really meant it. You also knew how to guide each of us individually with what he/she needed and you made time to talk about the art and the process. You weren’t too pushy. We still had freedom even when you were giving us direction and guidance. I just really enjoyed your style. It was also extremely valuable to me to see you to do your art and to see you experiment on your own multiple boards.
The class benefited me because I was extremely excited about mixed media and the techniques you gave us. I’m excited to go home and use weird stuff to paint with. Overall, I feel very motivated to paint. I just loved it. I loved everything that you did. I loved dancing with my brush which loosened me up. I learned about not getting attached to my paintings, too, which helped me be more free. Thank you!
I appreciated your warmth and gentle direction, how you shared you experiences of your strengths, techniques, and failures, and how you encouraged us to play and to let go. I really loved the free paint warm up. I appreciated how you incorporated meditation as well as movement. You allowed me to let go and just be me. I thought it was a good balance of all. It wasn’t boring or overwhelming. Aaron gave really good direction during the meditations part too. He was warm and non-threatening. Thank you so much for the workshop.
